Which landscape job

is right for me?

There are opportunities in landscape for all sorts of people. Whether you’re a natural socialiser or an introvert, a creative type or a science geek, you’ll find a career you love. To succeed in any landscape job, you’ll need to be motivated by making the world a better place – for people and the environment.

Which of these sounds most like you?

The dreamer

You were born to create and are never far from your notepad, sketchbook or camera. When there’s a problem to be solved, you think big – no idea is too ambitious. You’re a multi-tasker and juggle your social calendar easily (your friends don’t know where you find the time). You’re active and love to be outdoors.

You’d make a brilliant landscape ARCHITECT

The protector

You’re passionate about tackling climate change and want to do everything you can to protect the environment. You love being around nature and get a kick out of watching things grow. If there’s a job to be done, you get stuck in and use your people skills to inspire others and make things happen.

You’d be an excellent landscape manager

The mastermind

It’s all about the big picture for you. You have your goals and you stick to them. While your friends get distracted in their dramas, you’re weighing things up calmly and making decisions. You love facts and stats because they help you figure things out and decide where you stand. People come to you with their problems because they know you always make the right call.

You’d be an ideal landscape planner

The brains

You’re science-mad. You want to know everything there is to know about the natural world. You’ve always loved plants and animals and the more you find out about them the more amazing you find them. You’re level-headed and solve problems by looking at all the information available – including the details other people miss. You love a challenge.

You’d be perfect as a landscape scientist

The people person

Towns and cities are the place for you – packed with people going about their lives. Places of opportunity and culture. You love people watching, figuring out how people behave and why. You’re the best person to have around when an argument breaks out because you see both sides and always find a compromise.

You’d make a great urban designer
